50,000 SWIFTLET FARMS IN MALYASIA

According to the Bird's Nest Association, there are 50,000 swiflet house in Malaysia and this number is increasing every month. I myself did make some attempt to play the bird sound at 9th Mile, Penrissen Road, Sarawak , few birds response but not a big number,

  1. if the area is new. it takes times. but when u found few birds reacted, with ideal macro environment u will see that the population of swiftlets will grow rapidly.

    Then, the growth rate will slowly stagnant and maintain at certain level.

  2. Thank you for your response. According to Swiftlet farmer here, the population of swiftlet in 7th miles area not that many at the moment compare to Sarikei, Mukah and Kabong area.

  3. I just visited a few natural caves from Kuching,to my surprise, Kuching has more than 420 natural caves suitable for swiflets farming1

  4. You are right, in fact I have one cave near my Kampung we called it Silabur. I used to follow my father to collect birdnest when I was 15 years old. Very lucrative income at that time. We collect about 100 kg during the havest month.
