Code Of Good Veterinary Hygienic Practice (GVHP for EBN)

This Code Of Good Veterinary Hygienic Practice (GVHP) for the processing of raw clean edible birdnest (EBN) was published on November 2009 by the Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia.

I strongly recommend to the birdnest processors to adopt this code for the production of quality and safe EBN for human consumption.

The most important element in this code are:-

  1. Infrastructure and facilities (pre-requisite for GMP)
  2. Operational Quality Control
  3. Maintenance and cleaning
  4. Pest Control
  5. Personnel Hygiene
  6. Training

    Unfortunately, most policyholders neglect to find out if they
